Not really a concrete date. Under their 4 phase plan, Nashville/Metro won't re-open schools till phase 3, they are currently in phase 2. June 8th would be a best case scenario

The dead period is June 22nd not 29th.

June 21st-July 5th.  The Dead Period is 2 Weeks.

Do those kids affect the enrollment numbers at those schools if that does in fact happen?  Now we are getting much deeper than just the "Pearl-Cohn + MLK" argument that's been thrown around on here for several years.  They have to be eligible because it's not the players fault that the school "closed" but at the same time it does change the overall landscape as well.

The enrollment numbers would go into effect next year on the new schedule cycle. However, Whites Creek is not closing so it is a  moot point. If they don't have football 10 teams would be getting a forfeit win at this late stage of the game. The school  would have the opportunity to enter into a  co-op agreement but that would mean no football at  Whites Creek for at least 5 years. Can't just co-op this year and bring it back next year.

Numbers at WC and Glencliff are sad. Not so long ago both played in state championship finals. What are numbers looking like for both schools?

Plain old enrollment numbers are killing Whites Creek. They have 600 kids in a  building built for 2000. Closing one of their feeder middle schools (Joelton) will further add to the  problem.

Glencliff has sheer numbers but lets put the PC aside and just say the clientele at Glencliff is more prone to the international version of football.

If Whites Creek were in 2A and you could get 30 kids in the school to come out and play football then you would see a football team winning a lot more games.  Their enrollment is not for a 3A school any longer and with Joelton closing that is only going to cause those numbers to dip further.  

Whites Creek isn't just a 3A school but they play in a 3A region with Pearl-Cohn, East Nashville, Giles County, and Stratford.  That's 4 of the Top 12 3A Football Teams in the entire state.  

Their 2A region right now would be Forrest, Eagleville, Lewis County, Summertown, Community, and Loretto.  That's much more appealing that what I listed above. 

 

Glencliff is just in an awful state and there's no way around it.  They are playing 5A football in a region that includes Gallatin, Beech, and Hillsboro.  YIKES!!!!!  Nolensville and Lipscomb Academy are two of their non-region games.  White House and Macon County are the others.  YIKES!!!!!  Whites Creek, Hunters Lane, and Hillwood are games that they could be somewhat competitive in given the right circumstances and just a few decent football players who could do anything.  Unfortunately Shaun Scales, CJ Scott, and CJ Johnson aren't walking the hallways in Colt Country any longer.   

 

Antioch, Overton, and McGavock aren't in much better situations either.  They are in 6A playing in a region with Stewarts Creek, Smyrna, LaVergne, and Cane Ridge.  The support and the resources that those 3 Rutherford County Schools get compared to the bottom tier Metro schools is not a level playing field.  Cane Ridge is Metro's new "fab" right there with Pearl-Cohn, Hillsboro, and East Nashville.  They'll beat those other schools annually and it won't be competitive.

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
