MurphysPole
SP is a 24 point underdog on all computer simulations. Hoping for a good game next week but Marion looked very solid last night. Marion D line stayed in the backfield on Meigs early and often. TheBlackPearl
Marion line and backers will be the difference in this game . Not sure our offense can keep the pocket from collapsing long enough to pass or to get a runner to the edge...This could get out of hand early. powerp
Jasper has a very good team. My question is this, with a team that can throw the ball and has the receivers to make plays if we have success throwing it early then will that front 7 attack change? Last night Meigs didn't have a prayer. Jasper's linemen I was watching every play they really get off the ball well, get low, and drive. The trenches will be huge in this game! Have to love this game!!!

I left at halftime but saw enough to know our team is in for a battle. Most certainly the underdog!
powerp
agree with this. I left at halftime but saw enough to know our team is in for a battle. Most certainly the underdog!Pegleg they are just so disciplined on defense. That's the impressive part. Also, for some reason I've noticed a huge trend of people who went and played at SP now have their younger kids playing up the road. Not a good trend. They have the mojo going on up there. Hopefully kickoff will not be as close as it gets
warriorhalloffamer3
Defense is fast to the ball. SP will have to spread them out and try to get their speed to the edge. I do think SP can throw the ball with success if given time to throw. I do think Holland will have to roll out to have success though. I think SP will try to stop fullback up middle and

piratetom
This will be a tough battle for our Pirates but games like this will prepare us for a deep playoff run. Hoping for an injury free game for both teams. Either way, I will be pulling for both teams as the season progresses. Go Pirates!
team69
Wasn't suprised with the MC VS MC score at all. The Pirates will have to battle up hill against the #1 ranked warriors. I think we will see the score a little closer than people think. We got to eliminate the big play and make Jasper drive the ball. The more you can do this the bigger chance for a turn over or two. Think we will have to have a few. I love our wide outs especially #10 wouldn't trade him for anyone on the field Friday night. The boy is a player! I don't expect much out of the new guy. The pirates might have troube moving the ball but they do have big play possibilities in a few places. Hoping for no injuries.

I never posted a prediction but after I watched Meigs film this past week I knew it wouldn't be close. I was able to watch SP against BC this morning and you guys will be tough to contain. So many weapons to try to cover. McQueen could be a wildcard but just not sure how much he will be able to contribute in a short amount of time. Holland has grown into a very good qb but not sure will have the time for the long pass plays. #10 is a stud. He will make some plays Friday for sure. #9 is very impressive. Almost reminds me of a young Kirkendoll. Can't name all the kids because this is already too long haha. Looking for a good game Friday. Toss up in my opinion. beerman
Jasper's first test of the season for sure... we are the underdog and we should play that roll.. We need to hope for a couple breaks early, I have trust in our coaching staff to find things other teams have over looked and put our kids in the best position possible.. but the kids have to block, and tackle.. players make plays. Indian
"2 years ago while playing South Pittsburg at Berne Stadium the Marion County Warriors had a commanding lead then all of a sudden the lights go out. Let's come together as a community and help South Pittsburg and Berne Stadium out this season and make sure it doesn't happen again. I know people want the Pirates of Pittsburg to see the scoreboard plain and clear this season. Also, by helping keep the lights on ( with no delay ) the mercy rule will go into effect a lot quicker and the game will be over a lot faster. That way we can all get home and hear Dave Staley on Sideline WrapUp talk about how MC completely shut down SP." A GoFundMe effort to keep the lights on, floating around the internet.
