pujo
I had these tucked away in a file. One is from Roane County paper and the other is from the DailyNewsJournal. The new deal will be better regardless. This last thing was sorta crazy.
cherokean
In Division II, football will be divided into three classes. Schools with enrollments up to 265 will be in Class A, 266-530 in Class AA and 531 and up in Class AAA. The state's 24 Division I private schools have until Oct. 14 to make a decision to stay in Division I or move into Division II. Division I: •Six classes in football, split evenly. If all private schools move up, there will be approximately 290 schools in Division I or approximately 48 per classification, meaning six teams, give or take, per region. The Board voted for the state office staff to set district and regional alignments and publish them when they are finalized. This will be done prior to the November Board of Control meeting, giving schools an opportunity to appeal if they feel they have a legitimate reason. From past FB playing schools including the couple new ones being added Division I is at 290(you are correct on number)...At the time of this post six DI FB have not reported enrollments...South Fulton, Hillcrest, MLK, Fairley, Fayette-Ware & Obion County. If all privates leave...290/6 classes gives you 2-49 teams classes(could be 1A & 2A) and 4-48 team classes. As for 1A: KIPP Memphis Collegiate School 164 Gleason High School 166 Lookout Valley High School 172 Greenfield High School 176 Coalfield High School 180 Oakdale High School 183 Sunbright High School 183 HR-Bruceton Cent. Raiderfan76
What's everyone's thoughts about region 4? You got Stown,CA moving up to 2a and GCA going private. Do you think they will leave it with just 5? Or is WC coming back? What's your thoughts?

Sorry about that . I had a senior moment. I forgot one. Lol. So it should stay the same and just allow for 3 extra non-conference games
lakecounty1968
I think the largest 1a school will be Trousdale Co. Peabody more than likely will be the smallest 2a school. If the cutoff is 48 schools for class. There are a few other schools that have applied for tssaa membership that might make a difference in the cutoffs. TALMAD
It'll be a lot like it was und How many you think they will let go to playoffs #1 and #2??? maybe 3??? Edited September 22, 2016 by TALMAD
pujo
How many you think they will let go to playoffs #1 and #2??? maybe 3??? I'd say 4 in each region. TSSAA makes big money and all schools want to get there. Most never have a chance of winning it all so the playoffs is there goal. And even that can be a big task for some. That will put alot of teams that never had a chance in with only 6 in a Region!
