Whitwell vs. Copper Basin

Wondering what everyone is thinking on this one? Whitwell is probably the favorite. Copper Basin has been off for three weeks. They are playing for homefield advantage in the first round. Game is at Copper Basin, can they possibly get the win? Finishing 2nd vs 3rd is big in my opinion, as #3 will have to go to Fayetteville and will not be able to beat the Tigers. They finished 2nd in region 4 but I honestly think they maybe the best team in the region. The #2 team gets to host Summertown, who is probably the surprise of the region, but probably won't be able to handle the pressure of the play-offs in their first appearance.

Whitwell by 3 or 4 scores.All of region 4 teams are pretty close IMO. Edited by orngnblk

What kind of mess is this? That Daly man took three weeks off? Are you joking? No wonder these copper boys cant win a game if you give your boys a three week break. That is a bunch of mess. You think im joking but im not.

It wasn't his fault...They played week 8, had a forfeit week 9, bye week was week 10, and play week 11 vs Whitwell. Not much of a choice for not playing the last few weeks. Every team has a bye week, theirs just happened to fall at the wrong time with the forfeit being right there with it. Who knows maybe the time off will have done them some good. Did they have any injuries?

They out to have a good game plan for the Tygers. They have even had time to work in some alternate plans and plays.

I wouldn't count on Summertown not being able to handle the pressure. In Summertown, they always play for state appearances and in BIG games in every sport. These kids know just one mantra, just win.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
