milo118
Don't think shad will be coaching in rutherford co anytime soon. Nothing to base it on. Just a hunch.

I think Schad stays at WB for a while. Lots of support from admin. lots of support for his family as well.

MountainRebel
I really don't know the whole story but I do know that WB in it's 37 years of existence has a losing record mainly because you can only teach a dog so many tricks and between the interference of parents and players not willing to go the extra mile you get what you get. It was so hard to watch a film of the Oakland game and to see a friend of mines kid just take a beating. If Shad does come back I hope he won't allow any of the quitters back on the team if it means losing every game 100-0. I would teach those people a lesson.million dollar question is why the kids quit? I guess if we are assuming that shad has support of the administration it was all on the kids. IMO a mass exodus like that should be of concern to the administration. Shad has been their long enough to have weeded out the bad apples before the Oakland game. Just another perspective from a Blount County fan.
strongx
I think Schad stays at WB for a while. Lots of support from admin. lots of support for his family as well.Wb needs him a couple more years for the stability in the program. You are right 32, there is plenty of support from the administration. A couple more years should help solidify the link between the high school and their feeder programs. strongx
million dollar question is why the kids quit?I heard they were told there would be no hard feelings if they didn't go....so let's think back to being 17 yrs old...Ride 3 hours on a bus to sit on the bench and watch your team get their butts handed to them VS taking the pretty brunette that sits next to you in English class to eat and watch the submarine races. Blount county boys ain't stupid!
etcoach
Pretty sure the number has been exaggerated on this site of those who some say "quit" the program. There were a handful who did not make the trip to Oakland......you ever heard of a "pep band?" I think we took a "pep team." 2-8 vs arguably the best team in the state. It was a waste of everyone's time. Our numbers coming back are fine. And, yes, Shad has 100% support from the administration. He is currently looking to add to his staff. Although the record did not reflect improvement, the product (minus the Maryville, Oakland, and Alcoa games) on the field was much improved from 2015. I am pretty sure that Rutherford County and Coach Shadowens will not reconcile their differences anytime soon. We are pleased to have him here. Even his wife!!! As a fan, I could see the improvement on the field. We went from a team that wasn't competitive in any region games but 1 in 2015 to a team that was highly competitive in most games in 2016. Lost Old Dad
What is his standing in Wilson Co? There has always been bad juju feelings between ANY Rutherford County team/coach and Wilson County. I for one do not see Coach Shad wanting to go there. This goes back even before the Class 5a days before there was a 6a division.
HTV
What is his standing in Wilson Co? When he is in Wilson County he stands about 528 feet above sea level.
