When you watch championship level football every year with Alcoa and Maryville...you learn what takes. Greenbacks got it!!!

Goons will be there early to support the Cherokee Nation!!!

That was a tough one. To keep within distance going into the fourth they needed some things go their way and to make breaks like turnovers, goal line stop, maybe a big play called back on penalties etc and except for Davenport's early interception they didn't really get them.

Alcoa scored on their second play and it looked bad, the scoreboard doesn't show it but the defense settled in after that. Held Alcoa to a FG after giving up the ball on fourth down in their own territory (not a bad decision being the underdog).

Biggest play maybe was late in first half when Alcoa scored from the 3 on fourth down. There's a lot of difference in being down 17-0 and being down 10-0 with a stop at your end zone.

Sequatchie moved the ball here and there but not consistently.

The large senior group did a good job leading the team this year. Whether they were "really" #2 doesn't matter, they beat the teams they were supposed to and got to the same exit point as most teams that end up vs Alcoa, a loss to them.

Next year's senior class won't be large but has some good players including the quarterback, a good DL who should step in offense, a linebacker who should also be part of the offense, and a good fullback. The team definitely needs more linemen to step it up. But the group now has a taste of winning and that will make a difference in the off season and the work to maintain a high level. The JV had some good results and they worked in practice against the seniors, a benefit for sure.

A lot to be proud about. The Indians played tough and never gave up!
