Governors travel over to maverick country

Those were some really good AC teams. Kerr, as much as he did recruit (word is from Bradley fans Cleveland was recruiting, too lol foose) had some really good teams @ AC. Hearing Slover's name brings back memories. I remember him, Curt Larue, Jamey Chadwell (great QB), Gillum of course and a few others being really good players. Curtis should've been a Clinton Dragon and originally was.

Cleveland didn't have to recruit back in the 1990s. Back then if u played football you went to Cleveland because u were gonna contend for a ring. Bradley fans will say that because they were absolutely terrible back then. Were they're guys that lived in the county that played at Cleveland? Yes because they wanted to win lol

Haha yeah, I figured it was just sour grapes. People used to say the same crap about us back in the day when we were great. I would just shake my head, because I grew up playing Boy's Club football with all of the great players we had back then. Haters gonna hate.

I played boys club league as well. It was nothing like it. In Bradley county they done away with boys club ball years ago. Now they got all this sissy youth league mess. One ran by the city and one ran by the rec league.

That was when OR would not play AC...lol

If you're talking about 93, Oak Ridge lost to Riverdale in the semifinals after beating Jeff Co, Gallatin and Science Hill.  I don't think we were ducking AC, lol.  That would have been a great match up though.  Oak Ridge vs the Clinton, Halls, Campbell  and Anderson County allstars.  ha ha.  AC won't play us or Campbell County now!

AC tried to get another 2 year contract with Oak Ridge. Schedules didn't work out.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
