Levy is good. I think SS played her well last year in Mboro. They just had a scoring drought late in the game

Levy has matured.  Her first three years. she was a foul queen, sitting out half of a game. Then getting back in and scoring 20+ in the fourth quarter.  Now she plays a more controlled game.  Her last game, 30 Jan,  she had 16 assists on her way to a triple double. Her team usually has three or more players in double figures.

This is what you want to see in a player

Westview beats Dyersburg by 14 points at Dyersburg. Westview’s man to man defense was pretty solid and Westview’s guards obviously were a matchup problem for Dyersburg as they drove to the basket at will. Wasn’t Westview’s best shooting game, but they controlled the game from the tip and never let Dyersburg get closer than 5 points. This is probably the most fundamentally sound of a team that Westview has had from their guards in several years to go with their big post play. They only had 3 turnovers on the night as a team.

Dyersburg looked scared to me. They would not take advantage of the mismatches. Graves and Jones look a lot heavier than last year. Team defense was pretty good but Dyersburg seems to be like most teams, have a mental block when they see the name Westview. Dburg also did not give 45 the ball on the block but like 1 time and she scored.

They looked scared to me too. What mismatches did you think Dyersburg had? I thought Westview's guards looked quicker with the ball than Dyersburg did. When you have three girls that can handle the ball solidly and then two big posts inside, it's tough to defend. What does looking heavier have anything to do with anything? Jones still looks as smooth with the ball and Graves still powers inside and both play 90% of the game without getting tired.

What mismatches were there to Dyersburg’s advantage is what I’m wondering...

Westview is going to be a tough out for anyone to beat - no one in AA can match 6’3 and 6’2 in the post at the same time.

I thought that #3 and #21 i think should have been attacking Graves off the dribble, she cant move laterally well, IMO. What are you calling solidly? #10 doesn't look like she can go left confidently and Tasia goes left everytime. As a player you have to see that and from the sideline a coach should too. Looking heavy doesn't have nothing to do with anything when you play at their pace, just an observation. Just observations. Didnt look as good as advertised, think they can be beat.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
