Dang. Broke his ankle and back in 3 weeks? Thought a broken ankle usually took 5 to 6 weeks to heal.

Actually he broke his leg two weeks earlier and played a couple of games on it before they found out it was really broke. He's one tough kid!

ok for the long poster saying 22 outplayed 44 well.  if you actually go an see the film we had 6 dropped passes.  2 of which were td drops or missed by ref.  Ref didn't beat us.  there is a reason 22 who plays safety had 7 tackles as we were in your secondary all night.  44 had more than 4 tackles but who cares at this point.  take a look at hudl play 53.  they penalize us after a 25 yard pass completion for hit on player not participating.  Tell me what you see.  this kid is flying in to hit our guy late and 9 hits him in the front.  then 22 tries to take 9s knees out.  Then very next play we catch td pass in end zone.  call us for lineman down field well 2 guys blk 75 he falls to his knees they fall with him they call ineligible down field.  Fumble on 3rd down in overtime two wing guys on our side of field blow whistle and point he is down.  No bean bag on play to indicate fumble ever.  That is your ball game.  you guys have a very nice team.  a very nice environment.  don't get on here and try and be rate anyone.  don't think anyone trying to take anything away from you guys.  played hard.  22 is a very nice player.  we would take him in huntingdon anytime.  however if you will watch the film you will see.  We had several late hits or helmet to helmet hits not called.  We had 1 kid play through a concussion from 3rd play of game on.  Should have sidelined him .  Verified.....

We haven’t been here before, hence why I’m acting like this.

last post Good luck.  I do want someone to pass on to your coach.  He has done a fabulous job with the field and the team.  Thought they were well prepared and excellent tacklers.  Great effort. The community has done a GREAT job of supporting.  It was a great environment.  had so many teams tell us how bad you guys acted, thought your fans were awesome and even about 30 or so come up to talk with 44 after game... and all telling him how well he played... I thought that was very classy.  Your kids helped our kids up all night.  Enjoy as you never know when you will be back.  last post have a great week.

If I have to hear one more Huntingdon fan make an excuse of the referees in this game......try taking a dose of reality on why your team loss, let the official numbers do the talking:

Passing yards- Huntingdon 47, Cornersville 126. Cornersville had thrown for all of 40 yards in the first two rounds. Where do the refs fit in on that?

Rushing yards- Huntingdon 273, Cornersville 149. You out rushed us by 124 yards. Our second leading rusher (over 1,100 yards on the season) rushed for 19 yards on six attempts and our third leading rusher (over 900 yards on the year) had just 18 yards on seven carries. So, you shut down a large amount of our offensive firepower but Huntingdon's problem was that most of their rushing yards came before the red zone. The Mustangs couldn't seal the deal when it counted. Also, unlike anyone else I've seen post about the referees, I was on the sideline's and BELIEVE me, the Mustangs got called for way less holding than they actually did. The penalty difference was Huntingdon 8, Cornersville 4. Definitely not a game deciding total.

Here's the REAL reason why the Mustangs will be at home this Black Friday- Huntingdon 3rd down conversions: 6-15 for 40%; 4th down conversions: 0-4 for 0%. Bulldogs 3rd down conversions: 4-8 for 50%; 4th down conversions: 0-1 for 0%.

Also Huntingdon ran 70 plays to Cornersville's 42 but only gained 49 more total yards (322-275). Mustangs also held possession for 36 mins and Bulldogs 12 minutes. And yet the Mustangs only scored once in regulation (minus the kickoff TD) and held the ball for three times the time of possession Cornersville did.

Passing: Huntingdon 4 for 17 for just 49 yards!!!!!! Cornersville 2-4 for 126 yards and both completions for touchdowns. How did the referees effect that at all? Kind of looks like the Mustangs just watched the Bulldogs last two tapes and thought they weren't going to pass the ball and weren't prepared when they did.

The Mustangs also finished with 10 more first downs than the Bulldogs did. But Huntingdon also had 2 turnovers to Cornersville's one. The Mustangs fumbled and the Bulldogs recovered but gave the ball right back two plays later on its own fumble. So scratch those. The fumble at the end of OT was def a fumble. I was right under the goalposts on the fence taking pictures. It's not even up for discussion, it was a fumble.

The two key players in the match-up, the two quarterbacks:

1A Mr. Football Finalist Kade Pearson 4-17 for 49 yds  for 23.5 % 0 TD- 0 INT, 30 carries for 154 yards 0 TDs 5.1 ypc, 4 tackles on defense

our JUNIOR QB Eli Woodard 2-4 for 126 yds for 50% 2 TD- 0 INT, 22 carries for 120 yards and 1 TD, 5.5 ypc, 7 tackles on defense

TLDR? Our junior quarterback outplayed the Mr Football quarterback who constantly over threw wide open receivers; our offense was more effective in a shorter amount of time; our defense stopped your 'high powered' offense for the majority of the game, especially on our side of the field. So please, stop with the referees had anything to do with it. I think the numbers speak for themselves. And as for Huntingdon being the better team, give me a break. The only measurement we have on that is this game right here. And we won. Great teams don't lose to weaker teams.

Oh and if your fans, players, coaches, had bothered to watch our tape versus Moore County, we won 42-0, but we were up 42-0 AT HALFTIME. We played third string in the one series we ran in the second half. That's how us Bulldogs fans knew it wouldn't be the blowout that ALL the Mustang fans kept babbling about. We went up 42-0 on MC at halftime, and you guys put up 14. Now, I know that's not exact science, but its the only measuring stick we had and it proved to be a pretty good barometer didn't it?

Huntingdon Achilles heal this game was the passing game. It's where holding penalties came from most often, lots of dropped passes/broken up passes costing downs not moving the ball, along with other penalties at other times that stalled their drives putting first downs out of reach.... Ironically though, penalties also on the other hand helped Huntingdon control the clock, going both forward and backwards eating it up with time of possession keeping C-ville's offense off the field. Thus the low scoring game out of prodominately higher scoring teams.

HHS's offense controlled time of possession tonight and was on the field more than not.... Their penalties at the wrong times and good tackling from C-ville kept them off the scoreboard.

This guy pretty much just clarified what I stated after the game Friday night saying why Huntingdon lost. Just nice seeing the stats to back up what I was saying and hearing on the radio......

There ya go CB10... time of possession as I stated was way in favor of Huntingdon.

Ok, I don't have to watch the replay on tape. I was on the sidelines the whole game, not sitting up in the bleachers complaining about every single flag that got thrown despite not being able to see the actually plays. And if #22 got seven tackles from Mustangs being in the secondary the whole game then why did he only have four completions? 28% completion rate on 17 attempts doesn't = "being in the secondary all night". Whether or not the two refs called him down, the official who was in the right place to make the call overruled them. That's how it works. What do you think happened, the refs that according to you called the runners down, suddenly changed their minds because of some agenda to prevent the Mustangs from moving on to the semi-finals? GET REAL. And watch the film without bias and there were several plays that got called on the Bulldogs or didn't get called on the Mustangs that we could be complaining about. To quote you- take a look at the opening kickoff of the third quarter whah whah and check out the holding that didn't get called on Hungtingdon whah whah. ANYWAY, I honestly don't think I or anyone else would even be on here saying anything after the game if it weren't for the 10-15 Mustang fans talking smack the entire week before the game about 4-5 TD blowouts, ect. I mean, #44 is an ok player, he's the size of a linebacker running from the QB position in 1A freakin' football. What is supposed to happen? If a guy that big isn't running for 150-200 yards against tiny 2 or 3 win 1A teams then there is a problem.

44 was a very good player. He took a beating all night but never quit. I applaud his effort. I am glad our dogs won but everyone knows that game could have went either way. We looked good the first half and Huntingdon looked good the second half. Our defense made that stand and forced the TO proved to be the shot in the arm we needed. It was a game neither team deserved to lose but that's why you play them. True some of their fans was expecting a big win but most of the ones I spoke with after the game tipped their hat to our grit and performance. We still have some things to improve on this week though and I'm sure coaches will work on it. This is my last post on this topic since the game is over and it was a very good game to see but it's water under the bridge now. Time to move forward.
