UC would not be UC without a suspect pass defense.  The key to UC victory will be the offense.  If the UC offense puts the ball on the ground 4 times, regardless of who recovers the ball, and commits 75 yards of penalties, it will be a long night.  Remember also that UC was down 14-0 in the first matchup.  Something changed on the team after that and we scored 21 unanswered points.  That something is much better now than then.

Despite what Peabody did this past Friday night offensively, I think they may try to test this Union City secondary early in the game. Peabody’s #1 RB comes out after first series against Adamsville & they had to rely on their QB to win them the game on his legs. I think they have the ability to really give UC fits in the pass game. We’ll see if that’s where they try to attack the Golden Tornadoes.

I agree and I think it would be the smart thing to do.

Starting quarterback was out in first game there was several overthrown passes that should have been touchdowns

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
