How does this happen? Clarkrange beat them by nearly 30 both times they played them.........

Same thing happened to Jackson Co a few years back...beat Clay Co by nearly 40 the first time they met.  Then each game got a little bit closer, till Clay Co beat us in the state finals.

If either Pickett or Clarkrange slows their roll tonight to try to 'right' their brackets, not only should the coaches be fired, but they're showing zero confidence in their team.  If they are a state contender, they have to beat them all anyway.  They'll just have to prove their worth a little earlier than before.

WHINING (when not winning) Lamar Rogers is still coaching at Clarkrange!

Fixed it for you.  Here's an article about his whining when his team was upset in the state tourney by a much quicker and faster Meigs County team that his slow players couldn't defend.  https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/preps/2014/03/06/clarkrange-girls-cant-catch-up-against-meigs-co/6129293/

Some coaches whine a little with each loss. Maybe he has to "save it up" since it's so long between his losses.

You gotta love it when someone gets on here under a fictitious name and starts bad mouthing one of the best coaches in the history of girls basketball in the state of Tennessee.  What a joke

Lamar has been at the state tournament for years and your whining comment is a little ridiculous when that will be the only time you can find him saying any thing negative about officiating or about anything else.  I have known the man for over 40 years and you just don't get negative comments about anyone from him .  That game was pitiful and if you don't think a foul call at the right time can't lose you a game when teams are closely matched you haven't watched enough.  He is still one of  the top coaches and his record speaks for itself.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
