It's all about speed. It's very hard to beat a team that's much faster than you are! Summertown is better coached but they are slow! Fuller #24 is faster than Alvin Kamara. Huntingdon is not the best team in the state but they are I think the most talented. They didn't play well tonight but were talented enough to pull it out.

Stown didn’t look better coached tonight.  Looked like Huntingdon was ready. Don’t know he might be a better coach but he didn’t show up tonight if he is.

Huntington out rebounded S-town on both ends badly.  Also shot 16 foul shots to S-towns 2.  Would love to see this game again in 9 days

I think I recall myself saying that Huntingdon wins a lot of their games simply because they’re bigger and just out rebound the other team.... seems it happened.

Zebra, hope you had safe travels back across the river from Lawrenceburg....

Summertown was the bigger team. Our post players got pushed around the few times the ball got down low. Huntingdon was faster and out hustled Summertown. That was the difference

Summertown definitely got out hustled in the first quarter.  But if you think Summertown is 'bigger' in stature (not number of players), you weren't in Lawrenceburg last night.  Lawrenceburg, TN that is.

Your post players were 2x as big as our 125 lb 6' center and she dominated. Guess we see things a little different

Totally agree and they dominated us on the boards and put backs!  They deserved that win last night.   Hope they play again in 8 days!

Was a big honor for the Fillies to win the 6a regional. We have a lot of respect for the ball y'all play across the river. To win 6a is huge plus for our program.

Size was not the issue.  You have to pressure Huntingdon and keep them off the boards.  Summertown did not do that in the first quarter and let Huntingdon push the ball and get into their half court offense.  Huntingdon is very athletic and quick.  They were able to hold on to the lead they built in the first quarter.  Summertown's defense started to play more of their type of defense in late second quarter.  They were able to cut in the lead and have some opportunities for the win, but Huntingdon was good enough to hold on and win.   It was a good game to watch and both will be in the state next week.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
