Actually I think it was the early 1990's. Can an ole Mountaineer help us out.

Thats the one i remember when we beat them in the Jamboree in 87.

The very first year and years after while Renfro was head coach they had red helmets with two white stripes and a white football on the side with a columbia blue H on the sides.

There was a school we played back in my day that's cheerleaders were so homely they were ask to wear paper bags.

Awesome picture - and I know them all. Many may or may not know, but Jack was in the national finals of the old pass - punt - and kick competition. I think the finals were held at half time of the Super Bow, but I my be mistaken. The Compton kid was one of the several Comptons that came out of Walland. They didn't come any tougher than those boys. The cheerleaders.....look almost the same today as they did back then. Love this picture.
