You are correct, Englewood has calmed down a little, but you better keep the dial on that speed limit mark. Shouldn't have to go through Etowah, just hit 39 towards Athens in Englewood. TribeFan
McMinn is looking to improve each week and put themselves into a position to qualify for the post season which would be an accomplishment with their young team. The roster shows 54 underclassmen some of which have never played before. Not to mention a large percentage of these underclassmen are starting. They do have the potential to be a competitive team down the road once they get some game type experience under their belts. Its a talk task to expect these young kids to compete with a Maryville team that has established a legacy of winning championships. Maryville has seasoned players that are well coached and they have a feeder program that produces good players year after year. Maryville is the standard that all teams across this state measure themselves to. This Thursday night will be McMinns time to see where this version of the Cherokees football program is against the GOLIATH of high school football in Tennessee. BarneySox2007
Special warning to all Rebel Fans that have never been to McMinn County before. If the winds are coming in from the southeast from the Bowater Plant please don't try and compete or you could accidently find yourself being victim of a Shart. Goal for the Rebs. No first downs! So you don't have to hear the cheerleader announcer and his first down Cherokees celebration over the PA. It's funny the first time, but after that......
BarneySox2007
Some people say we're playing on Thursday for an extra long Labor Day Weekend but I'm telling you it's Shart Week and we'll need an extra day rest for the next ballgame. Red Rebels don’t have an extra day of rest. They practice tomorrow.
