Tell that to the two kids from Henry County who transferred to Perry County a few years back. Legit move to Linden because mom got a new job at the hospital. Move was 50+ miles in distance, and approved by TSSAA...until they found out that the family still owned their old house in Paris. Six games forfeited by the team, and the senior missed the rest of his career.

Except the family was still living in the house in Paris. If the house was vacant then there would not have been an issue.

Mom said that they stayed weekends (Saturday night) "fixing up" the house to sell, and at Linden through the week. My only knowledge is remembering the forfeitures and that they (Perry Co.) made the playoffs anyway, and what was told to me by a co-worker.

Interesting topic (s) under consideration - I have questions about this being in the "discussion stage" and TSSAA approval procedures.

Are the three regional meetings held to receive input  from interested parties (the public or school personnel)?

Is each proposal voted on at each regional meeting?

If approved at the regional meeting site, does each topic become new State-wide policy or are they forwarded to a final meeting where they are considered for adoption as new State-wide policy?

If not approved at a regional meeting, do they die at the regional level or are they still considered at a final meeting?

If there is a final meeting, when and where will that be held?

What was the proposal regarding Spring practice?

"This is to inform you that the TSSAA Legislative Council asked the staff to poll the membership on whether or not we want to continue allowing “Spring Practice” in football. Some members believe it is no longer necessary and many schools do not have Spring Practice. Please discuss this with your football coaching staff prior to the Regional Meeting. Each school present will be asked to vote on whether they want to keep or eliminate football Spring Practice."

Thanks RR. So the "For" votes were for eliminating or for keeping Spring practice?

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
