TribeFan
What is the deal with all of these teams moving there games up to Thursday night because the forecast is for RAIN on Friday night? Why? What for? Is it because the school administrators are worried about losing money? Here is SE TN there is a greater chance of rain on Thursday evening then on Friday asper the National Weather Service. The updated forecast calls for 100% chance of rain on Thursday night compared to 40% on Friday. I cant stand Thursday night high school football. It messes up the rest of the week! Thursday night is college / NFL football....then Friday night is high school....Saturday is college....Sunday is the NFL then Monday night is JV and freshman plus NFL. FRIDAY is the day the Lord set aside for high school football. This is also the 11th commandment that Moses brought fourth for all to live by. Southtowner
I was wondering if games were being moved up to Thursday so one can get a glimpse at a potential upcoming playoff opponent the following night. Using the weather as an excuse to do so. Plus playing a day earlier in the rain might save some wear and tear on an already soaked field. Gives it an extra day before it's played on again. Who knows? Could just be a chess match among coaches to see who flinches.
bisonpride1
TSSAA makes the playoff schedule Saturday morning. If a game Friday night has playoff implications and somehow gets cancelled they will not be able to make up the game. Wouldn't you rather move it up Thursday and if it does rain Thursday you can possibly make it up Friday.
dawgs82
I can see where schools with natural grass might want to move it up, but not teams with the new turf. I think this morning the weather services were calling for the rain to come in late Thursday night thru Friday late afternoon. Might set up a grass field for a mud bowl if played on Friday night. highschoolfbfan777
I'm from Illinois. We play in monsoons, ice and snow.Cheerleaders cheer with skirts in these conditions while just minor rain cancels a game here and girls wear sweats in 65 degree weather.Who was it?Cleveland I think who cancelled a game to start the season because of a forecast of Thunderstorms on Saturday which did NOT happen.Cookeville did that last week and it didn't even do anything on a Friday. All schools in this state should get domed stadiums and turf fields then.
