Why all the hostility throughout the thread?? Let's try to remember we are playing for second place behind THE ALL MIGHTY Greenback or at least according to their posters:roflolk:

If y’all are playing for second then go right ahead. We’ll take it. Always seems like GB comes up in these threads. Worried?

If you think Huntingdon isnt capable of throwing for 200-300 yards against Cornersville you are sadly mistaken. Ensley may not have the prettiest mechanics but the kid can flat out spin it. The thing is Swenson hasn't had to throw this year but they can. Please stack on 11 in the box like every other team has tried to do this year. It may work for a quarter and maybe even a half (Wayne Co) but eventually a tight end or back is gonna slip out and be wide open for a TD. PLEASE dare Huntingdon to throw the ball!

I've heard coach Swenson had been working on a couple new offensive formations since the bye week. He hasn't shown much throughout the playoffs for obvious reasons. We had a hard time blocking Mount Pleasant & Ensley made a lot of plays from using his legs & pure athleticism/speed. I wouldn't be surprised if the first play from scrimmage Huntingdon runs a play action pass & goes deep over the middle.

That's the key- if Hunt has a passing game this will be a good game. If they are one dimensional they will lose.

As huntingdon shown good conditioning, aka fresh in 3rd and 4th- that impressed me about C'Ville.

Let's just be honest with ourselves...all smack talking and such aside. These two teams are very evenly matched. Both teams are 12-0. Both teams have won against similar opponents with almost identical type scores and stats. What we have on our hands could possibly be the top, must see football game in all of 1A if not the entire state. SP Whitwell round 2 is up there as well, but this one may be just a notch above. I would expect a very similar game to last season. Hard fought, back and forth, but to be quite honest, the best thing that has happened to these Bulldogs all season happened last week against WC. That was a wake up call and a much needed one. Expect the very best from the DAWGS as we are expecting the very best from the Stangs. There is a lot to live up to from last season as far as excitement goes. Excited to see the facilities and the small town hospitality that has been discussed. Would love to meet some of you at the game. I will be in one of the press boxes getting ready for a radio broadcast if anyone wants to meet. I will be the big guy with a grey goatee and a maroon polo with a bulldog and WJJM on his shirt.

I couldn’t agree more. I try to think of all the advantages/disadvantages from all different aspects of the game, who has the edge here and there, etc. but to me there is no glaring answer. Simply put, these 2 teams are about as evenly matched as you can get. Can’t wait to see the collision course part II in action

Great post

Its kinda hard to read some quotes from both fan bases, this was a Dogfight till the end and a few act like they lost and dominated,or won and dominated!!!! A W is a W plain and simple,CVille is solid, minimum on mistakes and a lights out D !! Huntingdon is explosive but can be scored on !!! Jobres76 post is spot on plain and simple !!!!!! This is the best game in the state of Tn to me at least, regardless of classification!!!! I will be so bold as to say this is a toss up with the last 30 seconds of tha 4th deciding it,but remeber still more football to play for the  first winner, and a solid run to be proud of for the loser !!! Goodluck to both teams and Cville safe travels !!!RTR

Let's not kid ourselves...this game is way above the Whitwell/ Southpitt game.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
