He’ll be the Dabo Sweeney of HS football.

If he try's to play with MBA, Brentwood Academy, McCallie, etc... he will get his backside kicked because no matter how good he is with X's & O's he will not have the studs to execute the game plan.  Is Lipscomb going to reach out in the Greater Nashville area and recruit the type of athletes needed to play with the big boys?

Trent Dilfer is the new head coach. Trust me.. what a huge hire for this program.

Why is this a huge hire? NFL experience does not translate automatically to being a good coach, and he has zero experience as a high school coach. He's totally unproven.

Its a total stepping away from the McAdams/Tillman era.   Purge with assistant coaches is happening also

They are committing 1 million per year to their athletics department for financial aid. It sounds like to me they just got serious about football again.

Truly not trying to be a smart a** but why would you feel that you could MAYBE compete with CPA at some point?  Do what you have to do to be successful or fold up your tent and get out of the football business.  For the life of me I don't understand the defeated before we begin philosophy.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
