Thats not being honest, several all state players in the last few years, you would not have been nearly as good without them. Yes you have some home grown talent  but the school is just too small to compete with the best without transfers.

To small to compete....is that not what most of 1a is....how does south pitt do it every year

I'm not accusing you guys of cheating, I just figured that the Tssaa don't really dig too deep into it if I had to guess.  Tssaa ain't gonna spend the money it would take to do so.  Did you guys have any transfers on your 87 club or was all those corn fed monsters home bred.

DT Bobby Cardwell moved in from GA in 86,QB came as a Freshman. All others were here through middle.

Any team that competes year in and year out have them. As long as it's legal there's nothing wrong with it. I said it before if they're coming in illegally or somebody's going out recruiting these kids it's a different story. we're fortunate I knew when the new school was built it would do this I talked to Crow about it many times  along with Scott Anderson whose son was Jordan we discuss this more than once that it was coming at some point in time and then we would have to explain this stuff all the time to everybody outside the program. I couldn't tell you how many parents came in and saw the old school and just turned around and walked out the door because that's cool was dilapidated!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
