There is NO reason for that field to be that bad.  Schools are given the funds to properly maintain it.

I 'suspect' it was let go that bad to justify a plea for turf.  If any school gets it, Oakland will probably be the first.  Unfortunately they have to open the NEW Rockvale high school and set aside the funds for the NEXT one in the planning stages.  Yes folks one new 6A school opening next year and another being planned.

I’ve always thought that high school linemen should be on the wrasslin team ... it’s great for endurance and learning leverage. Coach em up Good !!

The only problem would be there is only be one starter per weight class. Practice can only get you so far, the most growth comes from live action against other kids not in your practice room. Very rarely do HS teams have multiple guys able to start at Heavyweight.

As far as the other weight classes, there's 220 and the 195 pound class below that. Occasionally you have a Clay Strawn (former starting lineman) who would cut 20 pounds or so down to 195 pound class for wrestling season. It would be great if all of our linemen were above 220, but we've always done more with less in terms of O line size and I'd take 5 Clay Strawns on the line every day of the week.

    • Yes in the regular season. But once Westview's young kids got the experience from the season, they only lost to Dyersburg by a field goal in the playoffs. Westview was young last year. They will be tough this year
    • That is absolutely not the truth.  Few if any college coaches or school administrators want to be in the middle of legal proceedings if there is any way possible to avoid being caught in the middle.  With that being said I have two questions: 1.  Why would a coach remove any player from the team for using the F WORD?  Yes, I fully understand the player must be held accountable for her actions.  Maybe extra running and even a one game suspension but if every kid or coach that used improper language was kicked on the team or fired, they would have no players or coaches available to play the games. 2.  If there was truly another player or coach that witnessed this situation, and they agree with the player then by all means the coach should be held accountable for their actions.
    • 1st round exit?        For real ?!?!?!                     Oh wait.....    are we talking band or football?
    • Assistant football staff still the same? Any replacement for Brian Beaubien? Who will be the DC? Will there be anything going on this spring with football? I go watch practice often.
