What a class act by Coach Maddux. Thought it was nice gesture when Bearden did that to, as Jesse Smithey calls him, Kareem in the Region semi-finals with about 3 mins left.

As a Maryville fan I am happy with a 28 4 record. Bearden was the better team this year.  Maryville had a darn good season.  Wins over Bearden,Catholic, Fulton and Riverdale. I expect Maryville to have another good season next year.

To go 28-4 in this District and Region is more than darn good. Maryville is well coached and they play to their strengths. As far as next year Maryville should win the district and possibly the region. Almost every team in 4AAA is taking hits with senior graduation and Catholic is moving to D-2.

They were completely overrated at 2 in the state.. they weren’t even the 2nd (maybe 3rd) best team in the region.

I’m sorry someone got their feelings hurt because they inflated themselves thinking they were amazing to find out that in fact they were overrated.

I'm not even a Maryville supporter so no feelings are hurt here.  You get on here and try to tear down High School Kids and make fun that at one point they were ranked #2 in the state when no one in Maryville has control over how they are ranked by the AP Voters.  It just tells me how boring of a life you must have

    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
