Westview vs Cheatham Co

This game IMO was a typical Westview game. Close game, great defense. Thought Westview in the semis found a way to get the ball to Johnson in the second half  to take the game over. For whatever reason it didn't happen against Cheatam County.  Give Cheatam credit  where credit is due. Very good team. Never seen that coming what they did to Macon County. Congrats to both teams!! Westview played their hearts out.

I'm not sure about the possession part of the ball going thru the bottom of the net and back in, but I do know that's no basket. Johnson didn't have a bad game, she did all she is capable of doing. She has no back to the basket game. She can only score if she seals you on the backside and no help comes. Funny it was almost the same scenario as last year with Graves. Missed FTs by your star post player to either tie or win. Tough break. CC played them well and good adjustment by Haskins to go zone, or troubled CC for a while. WV gave up too many offensive rebounds, which is crazy when you have a 6'2 D1 post player thats so good. Congrats to both teams. Enjoyed watching the games this week

Yes rebounding was the difference in the game! It was 43-23 in CC’s favor with CC getting 19 offensive!! Hard to win a game with that big of a margin in that area!

Cheatham also held them without a field goal for the last 7 minutes of the game. WV only scored from the line. These were not upsets as someone stated in another post. They beat Macon at their own game (transition, 3's and driving) and Westy at their own game. ( Slowdown, def battle). Had they hit free throws and layups the Westy game would have been by double digits as well. The 6'2 post made them alter some routine shots.

Agree. Noticed that Loretto had 38 rebounds in their game against Greenfield and won that game, but had 28 (in that area) against Gibson County and lost (if they had 38 rebounds against GC, they would’ve won too). Crazy how high the numbers are in a 32 minute game.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
