After another week it definitely looks like Sullivan Central, Elizabethton, Grainger, Northview, Greeneville, and Alcoa are in front of everyone else in the East.

I don’t know what you’re considering the East, but Grainger, South Greene and Northview are the best teams in 2A in the upper East. And if you do a true East ranking.

1. Macon still the team to beat.

2. Upperman  Always good. 

3. Grainger up and coming, time will tell.

4. Meigs struggled early but talented 

5. Northview don’t know much about them.

6. Alcoa it could be there year to get to the glass house.

7. South Greene down but still good.

8. York having a good year.

9. Red Bank  will make it to sectionals but will lose to Macon.

10. Sullivan Central we will see when they play some better competition.

Good assessment. Will visit South Greene tomorrow for the game with Morristown West. West and SG are in two different classes, but schedule home and away games every year.

Those are the games I go to see. I don't travel to games where the outcome is likely to be 85—10. If I were a parent, of course, it would be entirely different.

Yes that’s why I’m looking forward to the Greeneville tournament, a lot of good teams means some good games.

Since the previous assessment was discussing who will come out of the sectionals with the teams I mentioned that’s what I was continuing to reference. My bad? 
 

If you look at a map of the state Macon’s in the dead center, just to the north. But, hey! We’ll take them in the East so East Tennessee can claim some Gold from the perceived Middle Tennessee strong hold on girls basketball!

I consider Macon East because the loser of their region travels East. I know it’s early but here’s what I think.

Yes, they actually beat Red Bank at home, but I think Red Bank might be a little better come tournament time.
