All you SP folks headed to Greenback have a safe trip. If ya get tired of the drive on the way just stop in Sweetwater and watch us instead

Old Pirate and cousin Lester going to Meigs. Theys plenty of time to catch an eye of the best orchestrated team in the east later!  Figure RD & Tower Man can go to GB as a couple safely without bringing unwanted attention. LOPAO

Yall seem pretty confident since you beat Milan like you did. A team that can spread out your defense will have success against you. I watched it last night. Yall were expecting the run 90 % of the time and had a defense ready for the run. Not all teams are one dimensional. You may beat us but I promise you a better game then what you had against Milan if we had the chance.

I only quoted him because he said no one and those are pretty strong words.  I think we could compete with meigs but at this point not much else. There is no guarantee we will even play

Really now, come on! Are you new to MC? He came to Jasper in the 8th grade!

He made an impact in baseball and football! Should have in basketball but that’s another story...

He played his freshman year for Dale Puritt and then the next coach just well, I’ll be nice and keep that comment to myself, let’s say underutilized him for two yrs. When Troy took over he actually used him as he should have!

As far as baseball, go look in the trophy case at MCHS..do believe two years in a row they broke the most win record and took region I think 3 yrs in a row!

Thats the past though, Joe serves in the United States Air Force now. He’s been serving for I believe 6 yrs and is living in Virginia.

Joe was a true leader. I don’t know about football because I wasn’t around him but on the diamond I was can assure you we went as joe went! He is a great young man and it was a pleasure coaching him for 4 years

I hope we do get to play. Probably means we had a great season on both our ends lol.:thumb: theres no doubt you could play with us bud, we would just give a better game I believe then what you had with Milan. Sorry SP folks for hijacking your thread.

I can meet you near the concession. I'll have my camera bag with me and perhaps an umbrella

He was the best player on that team and I never have downplayed what he meant to that team, but I’m not gonna let someone say he was the only reason they were any good that year.

He was the MAIN reason though. Without him that team is 5-5 or 6-4 at best with an exit in the second round. Instead of SP mercy ruling them 48-13 it would have been about 63-6.

Meigs will have Sweetwater mercy ruled by halftime. You will want to go to Greenback as your exiting at halftime.

You coached him? You should be commended. He was a force in football for Marion County. I’m sure some of what you taught him on the diamond translated to the football field.

Sweetwater has a pretty good rb in Drew Hicks. If we can slow him down and not let him turn a corner on us it will be a wildcat taming. If our line let's him slip through any it will be a hard fought game.

    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
