I’m leaning towards Meigs but should be a great game. Both teams will have to play disciplined D. They go all out after the QB and he may burn them with the run or dump a screen pass. There are great players on both sides but this game is like any other. Will be won in the trenches. Line play will be the key. Team that can stay on their blocks the most will win game.

Considering that's what had hurt us the first game I'd say your spot on.

I hope swafford goes man up on Willis. Be a great battle to watch all night between two outstanding football players

Agree two outstanding players but I would go a step further and say two very good teams. Not very often to see two D1 kids go head to head in 1A/2A ball. Best of luck to both teams. Wished it was closer to my home. I’d like to see live but with all those SP fans coming it may be a bit smelly. :D

Gonna be fun to watch regardless how we cover your Willis and you contain our qb. Despite the outcome it wouldn't surprise me if both had good stats. Hard to stop great players consistently.

I can see this game going either way. If Greenback hasn't gotten over the beating they took last week, it could be trouble. Hopefully they bounce back and this is a better game for them. This game will be another big challenge for Greenback.

That's one thing that makes this such a big game for each team. Meigs needs to prove we haven't dropped off from last year if were gonna make a run for the East this year. Greenback is coming off a disappointing loss to long time rival Loudon in which they feel they didnt play to their potential. Correct me if I'm wrong. Both teams are coming with something to prove with both teams loaded with talent. Where else would ya want to be tonight?

Well know soon enough, you coming to the game with all the SP folks?@team69

I would like too sure it will be a goodun! I'm going to Grundy so they will be at least one fan there cheering on the pirates. Good luck to you and hope both teams escape injury free.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
