Hey guys. Meigs will be my last game for a while. I’ll be having prostrate surgery Oct. 14, and it’ll be a few weeks before I can handle the sidelines. I’m sure I’ll be good for Cookeville. Get those annual physicals so they can catch it early like they did mine. GO PIRATES!!!

Good luck D60.  Praying for you, your doctors, your recovery ... and your wife since she will have to deal with you!

Seriously though, I'm glad that they caught everything early.

Who is this miraculous healed player?  I'm sure our coaches know but give the message board something to work with here.   Put it out here.

I just heard ST that they will have a player back and it’s a player that will make a difference. I ain’t gonna throw Yeti under the bus before this big game :popcorneater:

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
