Houston vs Waverly

You Houston Co. boys lost the region championship tonight at home. It could be many years before you are that close again, or you can keep working and stay in middle of the fight for a championship next year. All in all, it doesn't really matter that much, other than having that Region plaque on the shelf. What matters is where you are lined up for the playoffs. The regular season is just pre-season.

Same old Houston county team. Nothing special

That's a load of bull mate, they are definitely not the same Houston County team, the old Houston would have been beat by 40, it was a ball game start to finish, they nearly tied it if not for a miss communication resulting in a spike on 4th down. Give those boys some credit, they fought hard.

That's a bunch of bull bud. This is most definetly not the same old Houston County, old Houston would have been blown out by 40, those boys hung on and never quit. They nearly tied it but a miss communication resulted in a spike on 4th down. 21-14 is definitely not the old Irish, despite the massive mismatch on the O-Line, D-Line, and pretty much everywhere else, they still held you to 21 and nearly came back. Give them some credit.

It's the same old Houston  county. Waverly isn't  the same team has we had the last 4 years. We don't score crazy amount of points this year.

If RS beats Waverly and HC beats Hickman then there would be a 3 way tie for 1st with head to head leaving them still tied. Number of wins is the 2nd tiebreaker which would give the championship to Houston Co. Head to head would give 2nd to RS leaving Waverly at 3rd.

I was impressed.  I think you all are doing some good things with a young team. Im not looking forward to next year.  I think too many people over there got wrapped up with a 7-0 record.  We have had our ups and downs this season and tons of adversity.  We still are not push overs.  We had a ton of mistakes tonight.  We did some things well and some not well at all.  We still have work to do.  Good luck with your team.  You all are better than last year.  I don't like that offense but the boys hit tonight.  Im just glad you all come to us next year.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
