I’m picking Adamsville in this one. Gonna be a long ride on the yellow cheese for the Wagon boys all the way down to McNairy County. Seems like all of the hype surrounding GC has been deflated since the Union City game. I thought this Pioneer team was going to run the table from the way everyone was talking. Now all of the talk has silenced.

Glad you guys are having fun.   lol. I try to be as level headed on here as possible. Sure I can get the fan glasses on some.  The talk has been quiet because we were on our way  for a CHANCE at hosting a playoff game for the the first time in school history. And injuries have taken that away more than likely.  Hopefully the boys will show up and respond.

I’m not sure who said we were the most physical team in West tn.  Haven’t seen that.  I think our DC is great.  Definitely haven’t said best in West any either.   And apparently we will never hear the end of the Peabody game from last year.  Biggest win in school history over a rival. Were there things that could’ve been handled better.  Sure.  That’s part of being that big of a fan. Overreact.   But I won’t apologize for celebrating.

So what’s your take on the game?

I honestly don’t know.   We will be without our Qb / safety.  He’s played every meaningful play on both sides all year.   Also be without our best receiver.   Have a few on d line and o line that may not play.  Will depend on how the younger guys that step in play.   As bad as I hate to admit it. I don’t know that we will be able to score enough.   Just don’t know enough about the guys that will be playing much more to know.  Luckily we had a week off to prepare.

Let 'em have their fun... they're in the middle of their big championship run and picked up some bandwagon fans (BigEd, Vandy, and Reitz) along the way...

I know I've never said we were the most physical team around here... I have praised our defense as they've actually played pretty well despite injuries to different players throughout this season.

As for our defensive coordinator....I will put him up against any other defensive coordinator in the area. His track record speaks for itself. Additionally, a coach that comes into this Gibson County football program with the losing tradition that it has, and coaches that defense up to the standard that it is at right is pretty impressive.

As for my silence... I actually haven't been on CoachT from the time I posted this thread until earlier today, and just now getting a chance to respond to this circus show. Key injuries are a part of the game, and unfortunately in small school athletics, one key season ending injury along with several other nagging injuries does make a huge impact to a team.

I still like our chances for this week...

No bandwagon fan here. I make My own opinion with facts. And stay realistic.

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
