I've been on here since 17. This thread has died down a little. Tomorrow gonna be exciting though. Hope for  a clean, injury free game. Hopefully y'all will have safe travels.

I believe the weather should be good for this time of year. Yes. Let's hope for a good game without any serious injuries.

Did hear that SG quarterback would be back this week. Don’t think it will matter but I’m sure it provides a little confidence for the rebels. At least until kickoff lol

SG might have their QB back but they certainly don't have much of a Kicker. If they score a TD 80% of the time they will go for 2. I know to start their season their Kicker missed like 4 straight extra points so this is why the coaching staff has reverted to going for 2-points after TD's most of the time.

I watched SG in person against my alma mater Sullivan North in which they beat 22-0. SG is a good football team but they just aren't in the same area code/league as Meigs County. I'm predicting Meigs Co.  38-13.

Here we go; questions to be answered

1) will Meigs have distinct home field advantage (heard SG was coming loud and in bunches)

2) who’s QB is healthy

3) can MC offensive line take over this game

4) can Meigs defense avoid being whipped by big SG O-line 5)

I will do my part on number 1  I’ve got my bell dusted off and ready.  Need cowbells, loud crowd and tell that announcer to crank up that Tiger roar loud and let’s show our boys the support they deserve

I hope we dominate this game. I feel strongly about this game being a momentum based game for either team. If SG gets momentum we will have a slow time building a lead but pull away slowly and take it by 14. If we shut them down early like I know we can and capitalize on quick 3 and outs, we will dominate early and be cruising at halftime.

1) I see this team trying to blitz alot to test out our qb and his mobility. Will we make them regret it by quick short passes for first downs.

2 ) Will our lineman step up and handle the bigger line that opposes them.

3 ) We need to make this opponent have a long field to score on us. Whatever it takes.

4) Playoffs are upon us and we haven't relied much on our passing attack this year except big games. Will we open the playbook some.

5 ) We will shut this teams run game down. ( Its just a feeling ) Will our secondary be ready for all the passes I see being attempted this game from SG?

Game day etc. We are definitely ready.

This is on par with Sonnys algorithm as well. Sonny has us by by 26 this has us  by 25. Interesting.

You South Greene folks are nearly Cocke Countians, but since you beat my beloved Fighting Cocks this year and since my grandson played football for Meigs in the mid 2000's I'm pulling for the Tigers. Wishing you all safe travels as you come this way. Don't stop in Newport for some 'shine when you drive through there. ;)

When I think of Meigs and South Greene I think of all those great battles of their girls basketball teams in the early 1990's. Those were some classics!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
