This will be a thread of This That and the Other.

I'll try to add something to it daily during the off season.   So check in and check it out.

Today I'll update the coaching changes known as the carousel that have started to take place over a month ago.

Spinning 'round in a spell.  O, it's hard to leave this carousel.  Spinnin' 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round. ~ Still They Ride. Journey.

There’s a Allstate game Saturday at Boyd Buchanan with some really good players in it from that area. Just thought I would throw it out there.

Wow, 5-6 TN All Star games? Seems like that Whitwell kid could've waited a few months last year.

It's my understanding that no student is permitted to participate in an all star game unless it's sanctioned by the TSSAA AND the student athlete has completed their high school eligibility in the sport.

Also the rules state that if a student athlete doesn't comply with the requirements they lose athletic eligibility to be determined by the Board of Control.  I guess that could mean not losing any athletic eligibility at all.  ( in other sports).   But the crux of the matter is, at least from what I can gather,  a student athlete doesn't have any athletic eligibility to lose in the sport in which they play an all star game since their athletic eligibility has already been completed.

I think this is an area of expertise for @OLD PIRATE

Board of controls is looking at this matter now.  Expect changes for upcoming season.

    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
    • The lawsuit requests a jury trial. Sable Winfree has extremely competent legal representation. FYI - her lawyer represented the Warren County school system for years, and I believe he knows what constitutes a reasonable lawsuit.
