“We’ve not really tapped into that much at all,” he told the board, and a Maryville High School football game may have 7,000 to 8,000 viewers.

Director Mike Winstead told the Maryville Board of Education at its meeting Monday, Feb. 10, that the district is among the top three schools in the nation in terms of number of subscribers for its high school football broadcasts.

About time! I'm definitely down for this as it will boost the visibility of all our boys and girls sports teams. There has also been discussion from some of our wrestling boosters to fund a project to install a spotlight system in the main gym. I think both basketball teams, volleyball, and both wrestling teams (hint hint) would love a feature like this to go along with all of the other great stuff our AD is putting together.

Nothing more disappointing than to try and watch a game on livestream and it don't come on because it's to far out in a cowfield somewhere or something like that. What exactly is the reason for this, are those games in Amish Country and places like McMinn County and a few others being the worst.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
