I noticed this thread has been quiet for awhile and my Home Oak Ridge thread is still in Offseason mode so I thought I would pay a visit.

Diamondclearmedia.com has posted their coverage of the Knox. County Media Day. It actually covers a lot of East Tennessee teams.

Found it interesting that Maryville graduated 30 seniors from last season. Oak Ridge at their best might have 23. Also Maryville must replace 17 starters. But if a school can pull that off, Maryville is the team to do it. The interview of the Rebel coach starts at the 61 minute mark.

I've been told that the Murvl coaches really like this group.

I have watched a lot of these kids (Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) play as they have grown up in different programs and they have a lot of talent. They may not have a lot of experience but they have talent. I will be curious how they handle rotations this year. There was not a ton of rotation last year because the starters were only playing 3 quarters before blowing teams out.  There are several positions that could have equal talent competing for spots.

Hope all is well down there in Maryville and all my coacht friends and family are ok. I know the guys a couple miles away will check in ,so I'll say the same to my friends that follow Alcoa as well .We're doing fine up in Kingsport and look forward to seeing both your great teams back on the field as well as my Greene Devils and all of our schools around the state.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
