Maybe, who knows at this point. I like Oneida, and even Rockwood for being competitive teams. As far as being close Oneida even is 2 hours + that had to take its toll on the kids.

Hampton , Happy Valley , and Sullivan North are all region games for us (Cosby) and it takes us right at 2 hours maybe a tad less with good traffic  to get to all of those. South Greene is our only close one and thats 45 minutes or so.

That's alot of travel times as well. I wonder if the privates travel like that or is it worse for them.

We are in a bad spot geographically for a 1A or 2A region. Not many small schools that play football around us at all. Greene County Schools are the closest smaller type schools to us and all of them but SG are AAA.

We play McMinn Central 3A and Sweetwater 3A they are pretty close to us. Those are convenient home or away.

Definitely a bad location for similar size schools to play, though It is in a beautiful area. What size school is Claiborne County High?

Id say its the same word you would get from them...we gotta stay healthy. We have about 6-8 that can really play and about 4-5 more that fill out the starting 11. Not real deep after the first 14-15 at all. We are big up front and return some good skill kids.

What do you know about the Landers that you would tell me? lol

    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
