Man, what a week it has been for ole powerp! Busy to say the least! Game time is inching closer so I wanted to go ahead and give my prediction just on the slightest chance I don't have 2 seconds to post before the game tomorrow night.  I don't care about Jasper but only want to focus on us. I'll  break it down into the good, bad, and ugly.

The good news for SP: There are a plethora of athletes on the offensive side  of the ball. Frame has been very driven this year and will put on another great showing tomorrow night I'm sure as well! The kid just flat out has a motor...wish he played defense as well....

The bad news for SP: A lack of consistency from key offensive players besides Frame. Now, I know people will read this and say but you guys have been scoring points left and right so what are you talking about? I could make a very strong argument that out of all the skill players that are hyped up, it's been 17 who has been most reliable with hands. Too many balls hitting the ground from 28 and 11 that are catchable. Speaking of hitting the ground, our qb has to be much more accurate as well not only with his passes but his pre snap reads. You're a senior. Lead by example. 

The ugly news for SP: Linemen issues On the O line. That's it. That's the statement. How tough are we on the offensive line? Can we get a push when we need to? Do we know who to block when a blitz comes? How do we play when we get knocked around? Are we going to fold up like a chair or say hey you got me this time but I'm coming at you harder next time and that is not happening again!

Bottom line to end the longest post since 2003 on the T, do I think SP will win? Yes, I do. This team right now reminds me of the 2018 Whitwell team. Big linemen that don't do much and skill players like crazy. I would say only difference Ashworth was more accurate for Whitwell at qb early in season and they had other guys step up around him offensively instead of one main one. The Pirates kicking game will be in their favor as well and should make Jasper have to drive the whole length of the field.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
