GWAVE1
I think revisiting this rule might be the best thing to come out of this.

It was the fair thing to do based on past cases. Time to learn and move on. Video came from a person in Franklin County. According to what was stated by a board member, “it’s hard to tell what is happening on the Shelbyville sidelines. “ The vote was split 7-5. I thought Shelbyville did a fair job presenting there case. I also thought the Board was consistent with their previous actions.

Shelbyville was going to playoffs as a #2 seed and FC was not and actually initiated the fight that led to the brawl. These punishments are not the same for both teams as FC could care less about a playoff ban considering they wasn’t going this year and possibly next year to. While Shelbyville is in contention for the region next year also.
RocketHouse
Punishment was due to the official's report. The video from an outside source was inconclusive and of poor quality - it neither fully supported nor fully contradicted the officials report. I have not seen the video but board members alluded that the "brawl" on video wasn't as bad as the official report. One board member pointed out that a certain player was clearly the instigator and is seen on video starting several confrontations and he wasn't even ejected by the eagle eyed officials. The official stated he could have ejected over 30 players and Shelbyville pointed out they only dressed 31 due to contact tracing. From the conference Childress and Swallows came off as pushing for punishment. Several others were clearly in favor of Shelbyville. Childress effectively said since the video doesn't 100% exonerate Shelbyville we have to convict which seems like the opposite of what it should be. Tough call. Just hate it for the kids especially the 16 who weren't allowed at the game due to contact tracing. MrFootball71
Got what they deserved, doesn’t matter if they are a #2 seed or a no seed. Teach your guys how to act and don’t make excuses for them
workinprogress
Voljacket it is fair based on past cases of similar circumstances. Now if you want to say is it fair for an entire team to be punished for the actions of some? I would say no but the TSSAA has been doing this for years. Is it fair for a team to be penalized because a player used an invalid address and no one else knew? It happens. Hate that this happened but learn from it. You mean like using the address of the Aluminum Company as your home address?

A player used an invalid address or a coach allowed a player to use an invalid address??
workinprogress
I know I know. I was saying a player used the address without a coach or others involved knowing. I know the other scenario goes on as well.
Indian
Which team was wearing white jerseys? If I had to pick one team at fault I’d say it was that one.
