Don't think gordonsville has a chance unless we beat ourselves.

They are a solid Team. They will slow play and try to control the clock. If we let them shorten the game they will have a good chance. We need to get up on them quick. They are also  the type team that gives us fits at times. They are playing at home and will be fired up. We need to come out and match their intensity and be physical. We can't take plays off and we better square up and put a hat on a hat...no arm tackling. This want be no cake walk.

I've been fairly quiet all week.

It's been a busy week and I'm very much looking forward to this game.  We've had this game marked on our calendars all year.  Now it is finally upon us.  We need to march into Gordonsville with a business like approach and attitude.

The last time up there two years ago we trailed at the half and the Tigers stopped us on the first possession of the second half.  During the punt, an up man for Gordonsville made a mental error by letting the punt bounce off him.   Momentum shifted in our favor.

We need to come out and grab the momentum from the start and never relinquish it.  Everyone doing their part Friday night will go a very long way to achieve the next step along this journey.  I'm not ready for this journey to end Friday night.  I believe when this contest is completed it'll be South Pittsburg hosting the semifinals next week.

GO PIRATES!!

In 2006, Gordonsville beat SP 46-7 I believe. In 2007, SP beat them 33-13. My point is last years 40-0 games doesn't matter. The boys have to come out to play. I think they will.

2006 was my first time seeing SP in person. After seeing them warm up, I was extremely worried, seeing their athleticism. We ended up winning convincingly.

That goes to show that you just don't know until you actually play the game. I just hope the boys in blue leave it all out there tomorrow, and the rest will take care of itself.

15 hours.  Can't wait.

For those that can't make it, DTC3.tv has been showing Gordonsville games online.

@croz6110,  @MainStreetBengal or any other G-Ville fan, do you know if that will be the case tonight?  Is there any signup that people have to do to watch?

Croz said earlier in the week on the H2O thread that it will be on DTC. No signup needed.

This will be the 18th matchup all time between these two teams.  South Pittsburg leads the series 11-6 overall.  10-5 in the playoffs.  SP has outscored G-Ville 370-233, average margin of victory has been just over a touchdown difference.  However, only a handful of games have been close.  8 games have been decided by 2 scores or less.  Only 1 game has been decided by less than 1 score.

Overall the winner in this game has outscored the loser 324-94.

This all means NOTHING for tonight but it's early and I was passing the time.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
