Dang how much would they have beaten you guys by? 4 td’s?

Who knows? We will never know. That’s our own fault. We didn’t take care of business. Haywood thought they would do that to us the two times they came to our place but didn’t. We have a winning record over Haywood and not many teams can say that.

Haywood by at least three TDs. Wish Springfield could’ve come to Brownsville since we missed our two years ago but things weren’t meant to be.

At the start of the season I think most people were predicting a 4th straight Springfield-Haywood semifinal.  i know it was a disappointment after the great season the Jackets had. But as you said, it evidently wasn't meant to be.  Good luck next year in 5A.

Good luck to you guys the next two weeks. I see you meeting Betsy in Cookeville. They are tough believe me.

I won’t get over last week for a while. Tonight didn’t help watching knowing we shot ourselves in the foot last week but we’ve had a great run in 4A.

Oh yeah for sure, I thought going into the game last week we matched up better with Lexington than HC, but the chance at heart breaks ironically is what makes high school playoff football so great...

Oh come on guys. If you can dish it out you can take it. Someone said we would lose by 3 touchdowns I simply replied with would you guys lose by 4? Seeing that we just beat the team you guys just lost to for the second time this season. No reason to be salty. If I was trying to rile you up you would be.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
