As a casual observer in this thread I must say that I find it amusing how Milan is continually used to measure the size of each team’s jock strap. This tells me Milan football is back to the level it needs to be at. Of course me being from Gibson Co I will pull for Poohbooty but I have a lot of respect for Waverly and think they are preparing for a war with the Tide. Good luck to both from this dawg.

Milan is the most talented team in West tn. So of course you are a measuring stick !!!!! Same goes to your Purple Puppies,go beat Pearls Cones and then shock the world and beat Alcoa....  They are all flesh and bone so it can be done !

Well if Milan is any measuring stick... Peabody beat Milan, and Milan beat Westview and Huntingdon (the 2 and only teams to beat Waverly) soooo I guess there is no need for Waverly to even show up :popcorneater:

You may be right but I detect a bit of sarcasm in your post. Being an educator I can first hand attest to how Covid has jacked up things this year. With teams rosters being different on a daily basis because of Covid using like opponents and scores to compare teams is greatly skewed this year.

HaHa I would love to mess with you about this but I'm gonna make it even crazier ! River Side beat Aville and Waverly blanked RS twice, and McKenzie lost to Aville in OT and then beat them by 5 scores two weeks later ! And then And then And then ! Your spot on in the assessment that who did shoulda woulda could a don't matter a bit ! Any Tide Nation fan worth their salt knows you guys can't expect for the Tide to stink up the field again and win a Semi Final game !!!!! And any Fan at all knows Waverly off three weeks and starting 50 percent underclassmen that haven't had preseason isn't the same team as GC hung with many moons ago !

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
