Karns, Powell, AC, and Central have all beaten Oak Ridge since Coach Green took over.  Only Powell has won more than once.

When did Coach Green take over?Clary put out another stat tonight that Oak Ridge is about to go to region tourny for the 26th straight time.Next closest in region is Beardon with 9.So it goes back awhile but just these last 6 or 7 years have been amazing.I had to go back like 8 seasons ago to find the 2nd district loss. And that 1 loss vs AC was a perfect storm of everything going wrong. We kept missing free throws to put them away and let them hit a bunch of 3s at the end to win.But those things can happen in basketball which makes this run they are on in dist so amazing. They need to be ready or they will lose a long streak vs Clinton this week.

Coach Green started in 2010-11.

His regular season record against district teams is 157-8. Loses to Powell (4) Karns (2) Central (1) AC (1)

His district tournament record is 17-2. Powell won both times.

His region tournament record against district teams is 2-1. Powell once again.

Oak Ridge has won the district tournament 8 times, finished second once, and 3rd once in his ten tries.

Oak Ridge lost to Powell in early December of the 2013-14 season and is 114-1 against district teams in the regular season since then.

Five trips to the final 8 with a state runnerup.

Overall 295-55 record at Oak Ridge.

Used Coach-T schedules for info.

Its been amazing.I wonder which yr hurts the most for Green. The yr they had Blackmon beat and some crazy things happened late to lose.Or the yr Tee was a SR and they wouldve been champs if not for a BS all star team in Memphis that shouldve never been allowed to get away with all they did.Oak Ridge still almost won that game vs a top 5 team in the nation and without a elite player in EJ Bush 100%.Everybody knows how good Tee and T.Jones was but EJ was the best on that team until he got hurt.Seems like he didnt return until Sub State and only got a little time

I was mentally depressed when we lost to Blackmon. I had a hard time shaking it off. Tee's senior year, I was just so proud of how the team competed. The Jr. PG Gee took it straight to the All Americans from Memphis East. Gee played the best of any guard that day. Buckets and Jones were suspossed to be over classed by the Memphis All-Stars ( EAST ) but they sure didn't play that way. Oh EJ, what a kid EJ. A healthy EJ and East gets expossed for what they were...a Great AAU team...but Oak Ridge was a TEAM of Band of Brothers from a small City ( I call VictORy City ) who grew up together and played with love for each other. I hope the members of that team could reunite for a summer camp held at the Oak Ridg Arena. I would pay to just sit in the stands. Well, I may get up and play Tee in a game of HORSE.

Actually, that was Levert Smith, not Gee who outplayed the Memphis East PG that game against East. Gee was a few years before. He was the PG on the 2014 team that lost to Blackman in the finals.

Oak Ridge and Austin-East have had a very limited series dating back to 1974. They haven't played since 2002. AE leads the series 6-5. The last time they played Oak Ridge won 63-58.

2002?  Dang, well I think its time to strike this game back up for at least 2 years.. OR may win both games but I think its time for me to put a little bug in Coach Green's ear.  AE has been down lately but I know they don't run from competition.  I would like to see OR play against some Chattanooga teams like Tyner, Brainerd, or Howard.  That'll prepare them for those state games against those Memphis teams.

I live in Hixson and if the OR cats and Lady Wildcats played Chattanooga teams I would get to see my Wildcats teams play.  The Cats did play at Cleveland and East Hamilton in a recent season.

However, I really don't think the drive is worth it. Put the money that whould be needed to come to Chatt. toward Holiday trips to Upper East Tennessee, Florida, Bahamas and South Carolina. The trips are huge for Team Building, playing great competition and Individual growth.

Not dogging Chattanooga, just trying to keep it 100%.

Yea, I know they played Cleveland I was at that game last year and the trip to chatt wouldn't be worth it on the girls side but the boys game would be worth the money.  Tyner guards would be able to match up with anybody.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
