So just to offer some clarification. The TSSAA said no scrimmages with other teams during spring ball. They have not (yet) made a determination on fall practice prior to the season. They will very shortly I’m sure. Most coaches are going ahead and scheduling the scrimmages as normal in anticipation of being allowed to. It’s better to have them scheduled and have to cancel than to be searching at the last minute. I anticipate that they will be allowed to. I think the main reason they didn’t allow it in the spring was to minimize the risk of covid effecting spring sports. Being that spring sports were canceled the prior year, I think the tssaa wanted to do everything they could to ensure those kids got to play and so they limited the contact in football.
