I would guess that OR is a tad behind the other teams mentioned. I am excited to see how much they have improved during the Holidays. If you would like to see the OR Lady Wildcats play go to YouTube and search for    prep radio. Most all Oak Ridge games are on there.

Good luck to your team!

I think a lot of teams will improve when teams can start playing a consistent schedule, including OR. OR always have a good chance to go because they have talent and good coaching. Thanks for the info.

Vouch on Peabody comment. If you let them do what they do well, they are tough. If you can get them out of their element, not so much. Have to limit live-ball turnovers and make them hit shots.

I do disagree on UC being a favorite against GC, but I do think it could be very competitive on the right night. UC lacks some of the consistency you see from GC, but their ceiling is very high. Bonds and Williams can get buckets when they want, but aren't always assertive enough. GC has an added layer from last year with more athletic guard play. Madison can do it all, but doesn't have to. Biggest factor would come down to execution. Whoever can force most mistakes and limit their own. That's why I mentioned consistency and would still give GC an edge.

Thats true. Some of UC's losses are concerning. It will be a good game between GC and UC but I think UC has the edge because teams in single A cant guard Williams and Bonds in the half court.

I have saw UC play one time and Bonds is still a young player. She struggles in half court unless its an open look but she excels in transition. She has good body control and finishes well. Me personally, I wasn't impressed with Williams. She looked for calls all night and forced a lot of shots. May have just been one of those nights. I will take GC over UC right now

Clarkrange in 1a.                                           Upperman in 2a.                                           Not a clear favorite in 3 a depends on who is playing good at the right time

I keep seeing Upperman and Macon listed. I am going to have to make it to a game before the season is over

Bonds is good enough to score whenever she wants, but isn't assertive enough. If she played with the right mind set she'd be one of the top players offensively in the state, but she is too passive. Forces Williams to have to do a lot, which is why I'm sure she forced shots. Both are really good players. UC has a decent supporting cast too. But this will be there year to try and make a run. They'll struggle to replace what they'll lost with Williams next year.

I will agree with that assessment

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
