Im trying to see what he is insinuating about a young blk athlete...who committed to college, by saying he not going to attend class, just showing up for practice and games. What's the reason for that? Sounds a lil stereotypical, gotta be careful how you use words, it says a lot about character. I wanna say more but I already know the deal, Id get banned if I said something like that.

Since you brought up character, you should be more careful what yours comes across as. I didn't read race (stated nor implied) anyplace in his post. Sometimes we take what's intended the wrong way, and sometimes I get the impression that it's a reach to use it in an argument when you just know it wasn't intended at all. Why escalate a simple discussion about a minor issue into such a polarizing topic? Defend the SCSD all you like regarding transfers, but let's respectfully keep it as what it is really about.

HOUSTON IS CHEATING plain and simple.  So if they win it’s a championship that is bought and paid for. Yes they’ve been turned in, does T$$AA care?  No because they can’t police Memphis. I know for a fact this is Lawsons 3rd high school team.  Let me guess, his family is looking for higher education?  There’s no way they should be allowed to play in the state tournament.

Man you really don't need any Viagra for your issues with Memphis basketball.

Everybody knows this is Lawson's 3rd school. East, then his dad gets hired at Wooddale. That is a legitimate move and nothing to question. Now he's at Houston and the TSSAA approved it. Yes, Houston is a much better school than Wooddale. That might have been the reason they listed.

Germantown Municipal is an open district so anyone can apply and attend. No need to live in Germantown. That makes it easy. Don't blame Houston or any other school that has that option at their disposal. They're just playing in the confines of the established rules.

This post is out of character for you.

@UCSportsFan was out of line with his accusation of Lawson not showing up for class. He has absolutely zero idea about Houston High School other than what he sees people post here. His post was uncalled for and unfounded. No matter what @SayWhat implies from his posts it give UCSportsFan no justification to make the claims that he made.

You taking up for him and his obvious inflammatory statements but telling SayWhat  how he should read a statement is a problem.

Yea I agree with you @warmachine7954 that wasn’t kool at all what he said about the Lawson kid! Come on man, that’s a kid bro! You basically called him dumb & skipping class like he is a troubled kid(all kids from Memphis isn’t) @SayWhat I agree with you!

It's cool to have an opinion but then the insinuation that he's dumb or like you said "troubled" didn't sit well with me and for what? Basketball? I take that kinda stuff serious, we can laugh and joke and love our area but that wasn't called for.  So, I don't mince words and I will say it again, that statement was very stereotypical and ignorant and very "look at them cheating their way through life" talk that comes from people who generally think a "different" way I will say.  I love basketball but you would never see me make a statement like that about a kid, especially one I don't know and even if I did know a kids situation, I would never speak like that about a high school kid.

Thanks Warmachine and HawkGuy!

Point well taken! I talk stuff on here & have fun! Some stuff you just don’t do! He crossed the line with his statement & I can’t stand beyond that

According to T$$AA bylaws there is to be a physical change of address for the family or a custody change in order for athlete to attend another high school and be eligible to play sports. Did this happen?  I’ve heard it didn’t so that’s why I said there’s cheating going on.  I’ve said all along that I have ZERO issues with this as long as the rules were followed.  T$$AA doesn’t make Memphis kids adhere to these standards which makes it not only unfair to the rest of the state but it’s discrimination against those that they are making abide by the rules. “Saywhat” likes to imply there’s something more motivating my post something nefarious, which would fit his narrative. However that is not the truth. So just because I speak the truth on here don’t try to make me out to be the bad guy.  I didn’t cross any lines at all. Truth and facts that’s it. if Memphis was allowing the kids to play would Lawson be at Houston Co right now?  We all know the answer to this question so don’t get on here and act like this was a legitimate move.
