New 2021 State Rankings

Don’t know much about 1A but 2A looks ok, but 3A I would probably move some teams around and probably add Oak Ridge.

I see some teams that are hardly ever mentioned on here. Who can give me a rundown on the top 5 in A & AA? I am tempted to take some personal days to see some good basketball

I would say the top five in Single A are Clarkrange, Summertown, Loretto, Gibson County and McKenzie with Union City, Pickett County, Greenfield, Peabody, North Green, Cloudland and Gleason in the mix as well.

Watertown is pretenders, cupcaked the schedule early for easy wins and lost to the 2 good teams they’ve played by 20+ and 45

Glad to see my Lady rebels at #4. I do think the rankings for Class A is right. Do think Gleason could have got a little love in the rankings though.

Don't much about the 3A teams, but the top 5 in 2A and 1A look pretty much spot on at this juncture of the season. I don't think a lot of teams (especially the good ones traditionally) really care about state rankings in early January, because the games have to be played and in the end the cream rises to the top. Happens every year.

...and we're glad to see Mckenzie up there as well. (from Gibson County).

Thank you! It feels good to have that ranking. Lots of hard work in the offseason has led to our success this year. Congrats on your ranking as well.

New Poll out.   Cookeville deserves to be on this list.

How do you get on this poll?  Obviously beating 4 of the top 10 isn't good enough!     Can someone please tell the secret?  In all seriousness I don't think anyone else in the state can claim that they have 4-1 record vs the top 10 on this poll.   I mean we do have 6 losses but almost every team we have played has been ranked in their division.   We don't play scrubs.  We also played the #7 team in the nation.   Keep overlooking us....

I took a look at the Poll and was initially surprised to see Oak Ridge was not in it. I looked closer and saw that all 10 teams seemed deserving of their ranking. I am okay with OR not being ranked.

From what LadyCavsFan tells us Cookeville has an arguement to be in the Poll. Four wins over Top 10 teams is impressive. I am just not smart enough who I would take out so Cookeville could be ranked.

None of this will matter soon once the District / Region and Substate Tournaments kick into gear.
