Westview didn’t attack the basket enough in the 1st quarter. Tonight showed that if you double and triple team Jada then someone else will hurt you. She may not have had her normal average of points but guarantee she had quite a few assists from the drive and dump or drive and kick. Westview didn’t play their best game tonight (seemed nerves) but still pulled out an 11 point victory

I would say both teams don’t play there best game, but nerves definitely had a lot to do with it. But both teams played good defense. I’m just glad my lady Tigers showed that they belong there and could play with any team there, they just drawled a really good team.

Great season for your seniors, they earned it!  How did Harrison stack up against the rest you played this season?

I thought Meigs looked sluggish in the 2nd half. They came out hot! Meigs is a good team. The point guard is quick with the ball. Congrats on a good season!

We’ve not played anyone as good as she is in AA this year. At least on our schedule. But Bearden and Maryville have a couple that are extremely good. Did the PG for Meigs surprise you any with her skill level?

Stone gets the absolute max out of what she has, just physically limited.

How does grainger match up against Westview?

Grainger has two players who should make All-State. Tori Rutherford and Lauren Longmire. Others of note are Matty Tanner and Audrey Stratton.

Rutherford is a threat on offense and very quick on defense. Longmire is 5'11" but loves to shoot threes.

Several players are capable of shooting well, so double-teams will be difficult. It will be more like "pick your poison."

I know nothing about Westview, but from what I hear, they might just win it all. Grainger is very "streaky" and can pull away to a big lead quickly, via outside shooting and causing turnovers. The winner of this game could very well be champs in this year's tourney.

Definitely will need to get more going on around the basket. 25 three-point attempts is a lot, especially when you are hitting less than 30% of them. I think this team has seemed nervous on multiple occasions this year, but hopefully they'll settle in and look better in the Semis. That being said, it was still a really big win, credit to them for finding a way to win, even when they didn't have their best game.

I picked Grainger as my dark horse.  Seen them play in Maryville Christmas tournament and felt they were gonna be a tough out for anyone.  I feel like Westview will have to get out of that zone, Grainger will hurt them and can match up better with size than Meigs.  I felt Meigs just couldn't find the normal offensive rhythm last night.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
