Maurice's Picks.  No pick for Cascade-Forrest. He was 8-0 last week.

Loretto (2-4, 0-2) at Summertown (2-2, 1-1), Thursday: The winner of this Pegasus Cup clash takes the lead in the series, as the two teams have split the previous six matchups -- Summertown claiming a 12-7 road decision last year after the Mustangs earned a 31-30 double-overtime victory in enemy territory in ‘19. The Eagles were off in Week 6 following a 33-7 loss at Region 5-2A frontrunner Forrest, but have shown some offensive potential behind QB Colton Shaffer (612 offensive yards, seven TDs) and RB Javen Edmiston (270 rushing yards, two TDs). Loretto has been the victim of tough luck through the first half of the season, with each of its four losses coming by 10 points or fewer -- none closer than a 21-20 defeat last week at Lewis County, decided by a two-point conversion with eight seconds remaining. RBs Caden Porter and Kase Tucker have paced the Mustang ground game, teaming for 855 rushing yards and nine TDs. This one figures to be another nailbiter. Summertown 22, Loretto 20.

Richland (2-3, 0-2) at Mt. Pleasant (3-3, 1-1): With a pair of narrow losses in Region 5-2A action, the Raiders picked up some much-needed momentum in a 47-0 homecoming victory against First Assembly Christian a week ago. QB Bryce Miller threw for a pair of TDs in the win, continuing to develop an underrated facet of the team’s offense, while RB Sam Edwards rushed for 150 yards and a score. The Tigers, meanwhile, got an impressive defensive performance from DB Euriah Archibald -- 16 tackles, six solos, five for loss, with two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries -- in their loss to Columbia Central. LB Matthew Holden added an interception for Mt. Pleasant, which will need another inspired effort on that side of the ball. Richland defeated the Tigers 14-7 a year ago, marking the Raiders’ first win in the series since 1993 and stopping a 14-game losing streak. Mt. Pleasant 24, Richland 20.
