I know brother. It’s all good. By the way y’all take it easy on Da Haven Friday.

With no spectators, we may never know.  Lol

Y'all take it easy on Westview.  I'm sure the Bulldog secondary will rise to the challenge.

Haywood fans, so sorry to hear about the lose of one of your own. I just read where the voice of the Tomcats loses his son.

Certainly in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm sure I can speak for all of Tomcat nation in saying that he is in our thoughts and prayers as well.

Okay Tomcat fans!  What's the latest on a turf field/new stadium?  I haven't heard anything in months.

According to the Brownsville Press, there are two options:

Option One - Renovate the current stadium.  That would involve moving the field and tearing down and rebuilding the bleachers, concession stand/restrooms and dressing rooms.   A rough estimate of the cost would be 10 million dollars.

Option Two - Locate all athletic facilities on campus.  This would include a new stadium, band and football practice fields, moving the baseball field and tennis courts, and building a new softball field on what is left of the old baseball field. The estimated cost for this option is 19 million dollars.

A 60.000 square foot indoor practice facility would also be constructed.  This structure would be built regardless of stadium location.

I'm not sure if they have even considered parking.  It would be a nightmare.

I'm going to add a third option, and that is do nothing!  I hope not, but having lived in Haywood County all my life, I see this option as the one they will choose for the near future. However, I do know money doesn't grow on trees.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
