I did a little research and the last time Henry County started the season 3-4 was way back in 2004! 17 years since the Patriots have been this bad. There just isn't much to be excited about this year anymore. I will talk to my fellow HC posters maybe during the off-season or beginning of next season till then BigRed88 signing off. GBR!

BigRed, put the laces back in your shoes and step down off of the chair. Yall have been beat by one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification, two other really good 6A teams and a pretty good 5A team in a game that could have went either way. I hope and fully expect yall to make the trip to our place in abt 6 weeks or so. Great game HC!   GO JACKETS!!!

I agree, they finish 2nd in the region and make the 2nd round minimum, at that time they will probably play a tough Memphis Central team, that will be a test...

Anyway, great defensive game just as I expected, not as many points scored as I thought there'd be. Great job to HC, could have went either way...

Don’t sign off just yet HC will make a run in the playoffs. We'll see y’all again on our side of the river.

100%^  when the DB’s stopped playing 7-8 yards off the line it really seemed to slow down or upset their passing game. That first half we were giving way to much real-estate to them.

Totally agree. The second drive of the game got HC was what I was worried, i.e. them being able to pass on us. I was concerned it may be a long night after that drive even though we held on the goal line. Great adjustments were made that slowed that down.
This game reminded me of our game at Marshall County last year. Marshall came out and laid some licks on Springfield and basically punched us in the mouth and we never recovered. The goal line stand last night I think surprised the HC players with our ability to play with them. I know the coaches respected us but when you’re a teenager playing a team that you haven’t lost too in 41 years it’s easy to assume you will win, especially looking at our schedules up to now. It was a heckuva game and really well played with only one turnover I believe.

HC fans, I know y’all lost to then region opponent Dyer County in 2019 in the playoffs, but aside from that am I correct that this was the first regular season loss for the Pats since 2012?

Hate zone.

The Jackets D is playing STOUT this year.  Through 7 games this year we have given up 49 points.  Our opponents are averaging just 7 points a game against us so far.  I expect more than 7 scored from Beech next week.  The defensive play is still impressive

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
