I just saw the score and that’s a pretty lopsided victory. Impressive win for Greenfield. IMO, that district doesn’t have a stand-above-the-rest team. It seems they’ve all beat each other in regular season or so it seems, and it’s anybody’s game at tip off. Should be a fun tourney for them. They’re all kind of close.

I agree. Their District probably most competitive in the state. Dresden beat Greenfield Tuesday Night I believe. Greenfield looked lights out tonight.

McKenzie and Houston co last night.  26 threes between the two.  McKenzie won 74 to 68.  I think that was the final. McKenzie was 15 of 16 at free throw line.  These two should play again next Friday at McEwen for district title.

That is some impressive shooting do you know  what the percentages were from behind the arc.

I would have to go back and look but I know that the 3pt % was more than inside which is insane!  At half, McKenzie was shooting 70+% and Houston County was 80+%.  I believe 34 points scored in the first quarter.

Both teams lit it up. Houston County. I have both of y’all playing either Wayne County or ??? assuming y’all make sub-state.

Looks like Clarkrange is pretty good as well. Clay County, Pickett County amd Clarkrange just seem to reload every year and have really good programs. I am glad they are doing well. Love to see a bunch of scrappy young girls suprise everyone.

Clarkrange is down this year...8 losses. They split with Clay Co. and were swept by Pickett Co and Red Boiling Springs. They have to play their way into the district tournament against Gordonsville, but they should win that game. But, they beat Clay Co. once but lost by 13 in the rematch. They only beat Gordonsville( 7-19) by 8 recently. In most other districts they would be first though. 7A has three teams in the top 10. Clay Co. seems to be struggling lately beating one of the weakest area teams by just 2 (Clinton Co, Ky... area teams often play them. When Pickett Co played Clinton Co earlier, they had a 37 point lead when the starters came out. It should be Clay and Pickett in the district and region finals.

So Clay is playing RBS or Clarkrange and Pickett playing who in the District?? We have seen upsets and suprises before multiple times in this District. For sure want to be 1 and 2.

Clay will play the winner of the play-in game...Clarkrange vs Gordonsville. Pickett Co will play Red Boiling Springs.

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
