Surprised at the quiet about TSSAA mandated Thursday games

Never mind, I looked it up on the TSSAA website. We are 2-3 years into this process here in Georgia, where I live. I don’t know how they select which games are moved. We have always had more Thursday/Saturday games than Tennessee, as we have more schools that share stadiums. In inner-city Atlanta, they even play doubleheaders on Friday, with one game starting around 4:00.

Strictly speaking as a fan,  I'm hoping this can provide more opportunities to catching a big rivalry game across the state.

That’s the best part about it. Plus, the officials are mostly pleased, as they get double pay.

How can you be upset.  They have to do something to have enough refs.  I can understand not wanting to be a ref when you have people yelling at you constantly
(me included).

I saw it.  It will only effect 1 game per school.  SP played Oakland on Thursday in 2021.

Here in south Florida, we have 4 local schools who share 2 city owned stadiums. We almost always have a Thursday game we can attend.

The problem is that the schools don’t get to pick which game is played on Thursday. The Tssaa does.

Schools will be informed by mid-March if they have a game that is moved and when that will be.

While I'm not a fan of Thursday games, I get it. We need more officials And this seems to be the only way to have enough for every game.
