Looks like Greenback and Coalfield locked up a region game on Monday. Will be interesting to see who joins them out of their respective districts. I know Oliver Springs has their 1 ready to go for their elimination game today while Oneida staff is very limited for today so my pick will be Oliver Springs to advance. Not sure the pitching situations for midway and oakdale tonight. Should be a good one either way.

I look for Oakdale to advance.I also say OS unless the Indians have something up their sleeve.GB has played some solid ball the last couple games.Rockwood gave everything they had the other night and GB slipped up a couple time but made some big plays in the end.

Those would be my picks also. I don’t think Oneida has anything left for Oliver Springs today. It took a walk off double scoring 3 runs to beat a Wartburg team that showed a lot of fight yesterday and should’ve won the game but that’s how baseball goes sometimes. I look for both Coalfield and Greenback to win their districts in the second game today and be hosting a region game on Monday.

HUGE game in district 1 tonight between Hampton and North Greene. One goes home and one basically gets to play in a substate game. Both teams have their ace. Who do you think wins?

I am hoping Hampton gets the win cause the Dogs made it to the state championship game in football, final four in basketball, so a sub-state, state possibility in baseball would make this an unbelievable year for this senior class.

I've seen NG and Hampton quite a bit this season. I've been less impressed with NG. That's not to say they won't make substate, though. They have the better #1, and I think they field the ball a smidge better. But Hampton has the better bats, and better depth in the rotation. In a double elimination format, I think I'd give Hampton the advantage, IMO.

It's always a good day when I come back on here and DON'T have to eat crow.

Monday night, it almost seemed that neither NG or Hampton really cared if they won or lost. It was like they had both decided they'd get rolled by UH and have to play each other again tonight.

I believe Hampton could go on the road next Friday and give a good game to either Coalfield or Greenback. UH, though, is just playing on another planet right now. Their last 6 games, they've outscored their opposition 105-12.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
